The development of the INSPIRATION Strategic Research Agenda - which is available online at www.inspiration-agenda.eu – was an outstanding approach of agenda setting. The bottom-up iterative process involved more than 500 experts from ca 20 countries in Europe.
The article "Soil and land use research in Europe: Lessons learned from INSPIRATION bottom-up strategic research agenda setting" is now available online and accessible for free till 1 Feb 2018 at Science of The Total Environment
In this article:
- We present and offer critique of the bottom-up developed research agenda setting
- We identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the approach.
- We link soil-sediment-water system use and knowledge demands with research needs.
- We give key recommendations including preparation of implementation network early on.
